A lecture on love has become wildly popular in Wuhan University recently, with photos of the packed class circulating widely on social media.

packed /pækt/ adj. 
挤满人的，异常拥挤的

📝讲解：人山人海也可以用这个形容词 packed，比如挤满人的餐厅：a packed restaurant，人山人海的旅游景点：a packed tourist attraction.

场场演出都观众爆满。

circulate /ˈsɜːrkjəleɪt/ v. 
转发，传播


📝讲解：大家现在经常说的「刷屏」，其实就是照片被很多人转发，转发的动词就是 circulate. 比如转发邮件就是 circulate an email. 还有个可以表示「刷屏」的表达是：be flooded with. flood 做动词，表示「淹没、挤满」，所以如果被一张照片淹没，其实也就是刷屏的意思。

📍例句：Weibo, a social media platform, has been flooded with the
photo.
微博被这张照片刷屏了。

激发了某人的激情

📝讲解：ignite 本意是点火，燃烧，比如点燃篝火：ignite a bonfire；在这里用到了比喻意义，意思是「引发、激起」，激起某人的激情，ignite someone's passion；还可以点燃某人的怒火：ignite someone's anger.

📍例句：The story ignited her imagination.
这个故事激发了她的想象力。

亲密关系

📝讲解：intimate 意思是亲密的，密切的，比如「好朋友，好闺蜜」可以说 intimate friends，那么恋人之间的亲密关系就是 intimate relation. 名词形式是在形容词后面加上 -y，变成 intimacy.

📍例句：We're not on intimate terms with our neighbours.
我们和邻居来往不多。

📝讲解：self 意思是自己，自我，-less 是个形容词后缀，意思是没有的，所以 selfless 是忘我的，无私的。反义词是 selfish，意思是自私的。

符合，一致

📝讲解：line 指的是线，in line with 是在同一条线里，意思就是「符合，相一致」，用法是 A in line with B. 这里的 A、B 通常不指人，而是指两件事。

📝讲解：gaslight 在西方，用在感情中，指代的就是一种精神打压方式，也就是我们现在常说的 PUA. PUA 的全称是 Pickup Artist，搭讪艺术家，初衷其实是帮助害羞的人掌握和异性沟通的社交技巧，但是现在方向跑偏了，演变成了精神打压，情感控制。

manipulate /məˈnɪpjəleɪt/ v. 
摆布，操控

📝讲解：manipulate 的用法通常带有贬义，因为是暗中控制，摆布其他的人。形容词是在后面加上 -ive 的形容词后缀，manipulative，单词也很常见，表示一个人是有心机的。

📍例句：She is clever, but also manipulative. 

她很聪明，但是也很有心机。

📝讲解：social 是社会的，社交的，socialize 是动词形式，在 social 后面加上动词后缀 -ize，意思是社交，来往。
